Horse chestnut preparations have anti-inflammatory, wound healing, bactericidal and other actions. For the treatment of thrombophlebitis, an extract or tincture of chestnut fruits is used. As a result, blood clots soften and gradually resolve, pain and swelling are relieved. In case of joint diseases (arthritis, arthrosis, neuralgia, rheumatism) they make alcohol grindings - tincture of chestnut fruits: chop 10 mature fruits and pour 0.5 l of vodka, insist in a warm place for 2 weeks and use for rubbing. After grinding, the sore spot must be wrapped.
